When Your Favorite Brown Beauty Vlogger is 'Low-key' Racist
If you're anything like us, you can spend countless hours in front of a screen watching dozens of YouTube videos, one after another.  About 80% of those videos are beauty oriented and with the rise of black/latina/asian beauty vloggers, we have a renewed sense of beauty within ourselves.  However, is it possible for beauty bloggers show their ugliness as it pertains to race and culture? One such case revolves around black beauty vloggers Rayven Elyse and Vicky Logan, who have recently come under fire for derogatory comments made about black women and black culture in general. Many of these comments were made on social media before they found massive YouTube success but this discovery has put both vloggers under scrutiny from their subscribers and fans alike. Some of their tweets captured were: brown beauty brown beauty brown beauty brown beauty brown beauty Since the uncovering of these tweets, both vloggers have issued statements acknowledging they were young and immature at the time they shared these thoughts. If you ever knew your favorite YouTube beauty vlogger/blogger to have held sentiments like these in the past, would your opinion of them change or stay the same?  Let us know by commenting below.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][vc_widget_sidebar sidebar_id="default-sidebar"][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Wow! Most definately my opnion on them will change. Stupidness can be tolerated to a certain degree but ignorance and boastful ignorance at that cannot! What are they attempting to achieve such sentiments? If I was happily watching either and then the tweets came to light I don’t think I could watch them properly again, there is a sense of lingering betrayal.

It’s a shame when brown beauty bloggers denigrate members of their the very people they are trying to tell to feel beautiful. It’s almost ironic and I wonder how many other brown beauty bloggers are low key racist.

Oh absolutely! absolutely! In world terms being black and being female can be hard enough at times so as a people we should be our own cheerleaders especially if it’s deserved. I’m a new youtube beauty vlogger and blogger and the first thing that struck me was the lack of black vloggers out there so already you don’t much choice over who you enjoy to watch and so the ones that are ‘up there’ to hear them degenrate the very ppl who help put them where they are is disgusting! I’m sure there are others, I agree
