Traveling this summer? Check out KARIF’s travel tips to ensure a stress free, glamorous trip.
Air travel (or any kind of travel, rather) has the potential to stress people out. For the most part you have to make huge adjustments to your already established beauty routine. As a traveler, you’ll have to think about the conditions you will be faced with while away, the kinds of beauty products that you’ll need to battle those conditions while you’re away, and how to pack these products so that they are transported safe and sound. Some of us on Team KARIF went on mini-vacays, and on our way back decided to impart the tips we stuck with to ensure that we looked and felt gorgeous while enjoying the summer weather!
Before the Trip:
It is extremely important that you know what to pack and what to leave behind. First of all, you must be aware of the 3.4 oz limit to liquids and gels if you will travel by air. Please be sure that all of your products, such as lotions, shampoos, conditioners, and moisturizers, adhere to the 3.4 oz TSA travel requirement. Many stores such as Target and Bed Bath & Beyond carry sample-sized versions of major brands such as Tresumme, Pantene, etc. However, if you have a beauty product that you cannot find at the sample size, you can purchase travel-sized empty bottles and fill it up with the contents of your favorite products.
What kinds of beauty products should I take?
When traveling you need to be aware of the kinds of weather conditions you will be likely to face. Another thing you must already plan ahead is the kinds of looks you will be going for. Many times, you don’t really know how you will dress your hair or kinds of make-up looks you will wear, but it definitely help if you had an idea. That way take the right types of products without taking the whole makeup bag for the “just in case” trap.
Deciding which kinds of products will aide you during your trip depends entirely on you. Make sure you bring the basics though: lotion, sunscreen, shampoo, conditioner, contact solution (if you wear contacts), etc. In the hot weather, I do not recommend that you wear too much makeup since you will want your skin to breathe.
